First--customer service. I didn't realize this when I ordered this hat, but there are two different bucket hats that have the built in face concealment, and I ordered the wrong one. I ordered & received the one-size (non-adjustable) hat thinking that was the only one. I received it promptly and it's a great hat--but it was a little small for me. I intended on keeping it and maybe modifying it to fit my head better and wrote a good review that mentioned the tight fit. Moments later CS contacted me and offered to swap the hat that I ordered for their larger/adjustable version because they wanted me to be completely satisfied. Wow.. That's customer service, am I right?! I exchanged the hat I bought for the adjustable version and this one fits great and has all of the awesome features of the non-adjustable one.

So... the hat itself now! I really like bucket-style hats for deer hunting over baseball caps because I think that the uniform brim does a better job at concealing you as you turn your head. With a baseball cap, when you turn your head, the brim that's only on the front of your head turns too, thereby changing your profile. I always felt that was risky business, since deer look for movement more than anything else. But.. I've never been able to find a bucket hat that had great cammo itself, and especially one with a built in face cover. I have a really thin facemask that I'd put underneath another hat, but that's two things to carry, and I'm trying hard to reduce carrying stuff in with me. One thing about my facemask that I really like is that it has 3D fake leaves sewn onto it too, and I don't know if that makes a big difference, but again, since deer tune into movement, I figure that having some leaves flopping gently with the wind could maybe save me from being b"busted" as I turn my head and they look up, then maybe realize "oh, it's just some leaves." Yea... I put a lot of thought into my hat! Anyway... This bucket with face ALSO has the 3D leaves sewn into the fabric, so it really checks off ALL of the boxes for a great deer hunting (esp early season) hat.

The price for this hat is totally worth it to me too. Honestly... it's two pieces of gear in one, and it does it all so well.
